Google launches new desktop application in Sync for syncing files and photos
Google is reorganizing how users back up and synchronize their files. The company is rolling New Drive desktop application on Mac and Windows.
Drive for desktop will replace the Backup and Sync application (which Google Drive desktop application in 2018) as well , which is for business users. Given that Google Workspace is now , it does not make much sense to have special synchronization methods.
The new application combines Backup and Sync and Disk File Flow, according to Google. You’ll be able to upload and sync your photos and videos to Google Photos and Drive. There is the ability to synchronize external storage devices with the cloud as well. Additionally, you will be able to view Drive files on your computer, with versions saved instead of files for faster access.
